I have always loved drag, and I am a long-time fan of Ru Paul's Drag Race. Watching each contestant emerge as an individual reminded me of reading a good character-driven book.
At the same time, I am a political person who is particularly aware of the rise of the Religious Right. A clash between these two elements of society sounded like a great project. So Dystopia in Drag was born.
