The easiest way to get inspired, for me, is to listen to music. I have a playlist on my laptop for each major character (Maia, Hugoh, Rike, and Lyddiah), and the selection I listen to while cleaning (or sewing or whatever) depends on the scene I'm writing next. If that doesn't work, I go on coffee dates with writer friends, where we can talk about our work and bounce ideas off each other while receiving positive feedback. I also belong to a writer group that gives me constructive criticism while pointing out the good aspects of my work. Finally, I dance. That might sound a little odd, but the endorphins really do help. Most of my favorite scenes were written after a dance practice.
