Just do it. Don't worry about being the most original, or the best writer. Those things can take time, and with millions of books out none of us are truly original. Just because you haven't read a story like your before doesn't mean someone hasn't written it. Have fun and create a story that you love. If you love the story you wrote, others will too.

I have this short story I found on my computer entitled "Chapter 1 First Day on the Job" by Nicholas Taylor but cannot recall where I got it (apparently from Smashwords maybe). A web search showed zero (0) results. If this is your book, can you tell me about it and why I can't find it on the web anywhere? It's very short, maybe 102 pages or so. It says copyright 2010 and is a Smashwords Edition.
