Hi, I was just wondering if you've heard of or read Winter's Orbit by Everina Maxwell? I really enjoyed it, primarily because it felt a lot like Vorkosigan saga. Not in a derivative sense, but more in the sense of general feeling I got from it. I later learnt that Ms Maxwell is a fan of your work (and of Georgette Heyer's work, too), so I just felt like I had to put it on your radar. Cheers!

Yep, I've not only heard of her, I've heard her -- she was one of the guest hosts discussing Komarr on the recent Plot Trysts "My Word as Vorkosigan" podcast series, linked in my blog. Or you can just google Plot Trysts My Word as Vorkosigan to find it. I've not got round to reading her work yet, though.

As I begin to read Free Falling after reading the series thus far in the chronological timeline of the Vorkosigan family, I wanted to express my gratitude for your creation. My dad read this series as a kid (I am 24) and not only has this series formed a camaraderie between us as we bonded over Miles and his adventure, but this series reminded me of my love of reading. Thank you! (Including a ? so I can post this lol)

If you were writing the Vorkosigan books for the first time in 2022, do you think you'd still choose to refer to hermaphrodites like Bel Thorne as "it" or would you use "they/them" instead? If so, have you thought about maybe doing an updated edition of the books to reflect this? I think the use of "it" is a bit jarring to modern readers.

I know a lot of people ask you when you're going to write another Miles book, but I feel like Cordelia is the only one of your major characters that hasn't reached the end of her character arc and I think I'd very much like to read a book about how she manages the transition into the next phase of her life after Aral's death. Is there anything like that brewing?
