(view spoiler)[I get the feeling that Perse is like Ptolemy but I don't have a good feeling where her rival is going to end up (i.e. either causing Sun's assassination or causing the collapse of her empire after she's gone). Anyway, I enjoyed both books. How close are you going to follow Alexander's footsteps in writing these books? (hide spoiler)]

Paul, apologies for the delay in answering this! I don't check Goodreads very often these days. Thank you so much for your kind words -- I'm glad you are enjoying the trilogy so far! You are correct: Persephone IS the Ptolemy analog in several ways. I am following the history relatively closely in the sense that I am trying to adapt the main events and course of events to this far future world. Book three will stick close in some ways but also veer the farthest in others; I can't really give more detail than that. But overall my goal is to honor the spectacular nature of Alexander's life.

I am almost finished reading Cold Fire and have already purchased the other two in the set - I was just curious if you have ever made a map at all to go along with this trilogy. I am having a bit of trouble imagining the layout of some of the areas mentioned. :) If not that will not at all spoil the love of this story so far!

I just want to tell you how much I'm enjoying your Crown of Stars series. I'm on volume four, Child of Flame. The story is incredibly engaging and I've become so invested in the characters. You have done a wonderful job of creating this very "round" world where you see events from so many different angles. There is no single answer for anything. Is the series still in print or will it be reprinted?
