Goodreads asked Tina Laningham:

How do you get inspired to write?

Tina Laningham My best writing time is between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. before my everyday life and all its issues start bogging down my mind. I feel more inspired to write when I'm in good shape physically. Eating well, long bike rides and walks in nature help me stay in shape and clear my mind. I love using voice memos and keep my iPhone handy just in case a great idea for a plot twist or an extraordinary character quote pops into my mind when I least expect it, like when I'm on the bike trail. If any part of the setting is in a location that's important to the plot, I'll travel there to understand the mood, culture and visual details of the specific streets and buildings before I write those scenes. In fact, I'm in the process of planning a trip to New York for a novel I'm currently writing. That will inspire me to write those scenes well. Because writing so much fun, it doesn't take much to inspire me. I'm happiest when I'm creating a well-built story that reveals the vulnerabilities and strengths in human nature.
