Linwood Barclay:
Hello, here in Macedonia we are little confused about order to read your books. Can you tell us how is the best order to read? I've started to read series like is showed on goodreads, but someone telling us and standalone novels are linked with series...
Linwood Barclay
For the most part, the books are standalones and order doesn't matter. There are some exceptions, however. My Zack Walker novels are best read in order -- Bad Move, Bad Guys, Lone Wolf and Stone Rain. (Those last two were renamed Bad Luck and Bad News in the UK.) My Promise Falls trilogy (Broken Promise, Far From True, The Twenty-Three) must be read in order. There is a followup to those three with a novel called Parting Shot. It's kind of related, but not essential to be read after the other three. Some trilogy characters do show up in my earlier novels Too Close to Home and Never Look Away. Hope that helps!

Congratulations on your great success Mr. Barclay. I have to marvel at how you can continuously come up with new, different and compelling themes in a (relatively) short period to keep producing-by contrast, I endured about 4 years of Balkan upheaval just to come up with the full story for my new novel about Macedonia. So: what's your strategy in planning for future books? How far ahead do you create structures?

Hi Linwood! My husband and I just finished the last awesome book in the Promise Falls series. Will there be another book featuring Detective Barry and PI Cal? Good solid characters that we'd like to know more about, like did they move forward from the events in the Falls?

Hi Linwood. We read "Too Close to home" and we are from Australia. I will add "a noise downstairs" to my to-read list. My daughter and granddaughter have purchased 3 of your books ( not sure which ones) and another one of the book club has ordered at least one of yours on kindle. I still have 2 more of yours waiting to be read. I notice you said you are writing the 2019 book. Do you try to write one every year?
