Goodreads asked K.A. Bauer:

How do you get inspired to write?

K.A. Bauer My inspiration mainly draws from my dreams and errant thoughts. Most of my characters are named what they are because of what's going on around me at the time they need a name.
As for what makes me sit down and start writing? It's two fold. On one hand, I force myself to sit and try to write for at least an hour per week. But when the characters won't shut up in my head and let me focus on things like laundry and dishes and anything else, I sit and write to get the ideas out so I can have the peace to do other tasks... yes I'm fully aware I sound like a crazy person but think of it like an ADHD hyper fixation. It's the same kind of thing.

Why do I write? I grew up telling stories but at some point in my life, I was convinced that no one wanted to hear them... And I stopped. It took me twenty years and a lot of therapy to realize I just need to say F the haters and start telling stories again.
