Lois McMaster Bujold:
Hi Lois, I'm reading through the Vorkosigan saga for the first time and I am a big fan! I have been referencing your great GoodReads article for the past couple years to know what to read next.Unfortunately the link is now broken. Is this some kind of mistake? Was the post taken down on purpose? Thanks! https://www.goodreads.com/story/show/293438-the-vorkosigan-saga-reading-order-debate-the-chef-recommends

Welcome to my work!
Yes, that old link is broken. It was nixed when Goodreads took away its space for people's personal writings, a year or two ago.
The Bujold reading-order guide has been moved here:
https://vorkosigan.fandom.com/wiki/Th...
This is the link that should now be passed around, replacing the prior.
The whole site is worth a visit -- it's owned & run by one volunteer fan, who could likely use some volunteer help. Being a wiki 'n all.
There is also a wiki for the World of the Five Gods, here:
https://chalion.fandom.com/wiki/The_C...
Hope this helps -- L.

Lois McMaster Bujold:
Re; Q&A below, can a demon have too many lives/get too dense for the human host to control even with temple training? Des’s age is noted as unusual, implying that most demons either die when they can’t jump to a suitable new host or they ascend and get taken by a saint before they reach Des’s age. Des is canny enough to realize what would happen if she ascends, but perhaps many demons can’t resist all that fun chaos?

I just finished "Pendric's Demon." It was very satisfying and that's not something I've found in the last few books I've read. I think the reason I find your work satisfying is not only your world-building, but your characters. They are interesting and complete - even when they don't have bodies! Would you say characterization is something you particularly try to focus on?

Lois McMaster Bujold:
If I did the math correctly, Penric would be in his seventies when the Golden General starts his rise. I was wondering how those events might impact him and Desdemona? I'm guessing they'd be geographically far enough away to be unaffected by the politics (and war), but the propagation of demons that happened during that time frame could have further implications for the Bastard's divines.
