Hello, I just wanted to say thank you for your St Mary's and TP series. I found Doing Time in a shop and then bought my dad the first 10 of the St Mary's for last Christmas, where he would read one and give it to me-usually with a knowing smile and a demand to ring him once I get to a certain chapter! Thank you for providing such a joyous reading experience for us. My question: what are your favourite scenes to write?
Jodi Taylor
Hi. I enjoy most scenes - although some aren't that co-operative. I think my favourites are the ones between Cmdr Hay and Capt Farenden. He manages her and she lets him. Anything with Markham in it is usually interesting in that I never know which way it's going to go. Anything with Russell Checkland, because he has no filter and just says what everyone is thinking but has the social skill not to utter. And Grint and Jane are fast becoming favourites as well. As Luke Parrish will say - neither of them has the first clue about romance. Not forgetting Francesca because she's so gloriously selfish.

We learn in one of the short stories that Alt!Leon met Alt!Max in the same way that Prime!Leon met Prime!Max. BUT in the Prime timeline, Leon was already dead when Max got stranded and her encounter with younger him progressed as it did partly for that reason. Do you have a head canon for what the differences were in the alternate timeline? (A Second Chance makes me so sad I rarely reread it except for THAT chapter!)

A huge "Thank you!" for keeping me sane ;-) I discovered your books thanks to a recommendation on Facebook (on great time travel books - Dr Bairstow would be horrified!). I am now on book 7 and they have given me something to look forward to and also something wonderful to escape to during this VERY WEIRD time. I swear I have learned more about history from your books than I did during my whole school career!?! xxx
