Goodreads asked Richard Plourde:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Richard Plourde Thanks for asking.

When he was 5 years old, my son had a relapse of leukemia. To treat him, he received a bone marrow transplant from an anonymous girl roughly his own age from the United States. The procedure was a success. The new bone marrow settled in his body and started making new, healthy blood cells. Within a few weeks, girl blood replaced his leukemia infested boy blood and he was soon in remission. Now a healthy young man, my son is cured of this potentially fatal disease.

That got my busy author mind racing. What if a protagonist who had the same procedure became obsessed with this donor blood flowing in his veins? What if he longed to meet this mysterious girl? What if he became convinced that she could be the love of his life? That train of thought brought about the novel, « Back to You… » .
