Hi, I'm obsessed with your books! WILL YOU EVER WRITE A CLIMAX/ENDING TO YOUR UNIVERSE? Also, I kinda don't like Olympus as a symbol of the West. Greece, Rome had slaves, Britain had colonies, the US dominates today. Altho demigods hate the gods and Percy and Jason try to reform the system, the books portray the preservation of the brutal West by demigods.

I'm glad you've enjoyed the books! I don't have any plans for a super climactic ending book. I like writing and I don't have any plans to retire, so I can't really say when my "last book" will be. As for the dark side of the "West," that's absolutely true. I think Chiron says that in the Lightning Thief: Rome gives us a cultural legacy that has been passed down for millennia, but that doesn't mean it's a good legacy, or that everyone likes it. Societies are brutal and flawed. All of them. What we call "Western civilization" is especially so because it has been a dominant oppressive force for so long. That very mixed legacy is something we have to deal with and confront in real life, just like the demigods do in the books! Saying the West is still with us is not an endorsement of its many problems. It's simply acknowledging what history has left us with.

Hi Rick! I'm super excited for the new Percy Jackson TV show, and I was wondering how this experience is different from the process for the movies. I was also wondering if you watched the movies when they first came out or if you were annoyed with them and waited to watch them?
