Nelwina _toallreaders asked Stacey Faubion:

Hi Miss Stacey, What would your message to aspiring authors who loved your books be?

Stacey Faubion Dear Nelwina,

First, I apologize for taking so long to answer your question! I'm just now seeing this.

To answer your question, I have a few suggestions but as with every creative endeavor, each artist must find their own path.

1. Read. (This is probably non-negotiable for writer creatives.)

2. Write. Spend time writing just for you, but also find people (teachers, parents, friends, etc.) willing to give you feedback on other samples of your work. Always ask them what would make your story/writing stronger. Some people fear criticism, but feedback is how you learn and grow. Best-selling authors always have an editor(s) to help them create the books we love. So if the best writers believe they need editor help, it would be wise to think mine & your stories need editorial help too.

3. As long as you believe writing is your passion, don't give up on your dream. Writing is an art form that can serve you for your entire life.

4. Find book people in your life (like you do on Bookstagram). It is so much fun sharing your love of books with other people. Since I found Bookstagram, I'm amazed at how much my passion for the craft of writing & the beauty of a good story has grown.

Thank you so much for reading Violet Jenkins. Having a Bookstagrammer like you love my books is a compliment I hold close to my heart.

Sincerely,
Stacey Faubion
