There is a sequence in "A Wrinkle in Time" where Meg has been frozen almost solid by the impact of a tesseract and lands on the planet of Ixchel, where tall furry creatures, emanating warmth and love, save her life. There have been times in my life when I have felt frozen solid by events. Those lovely creatures from Ixchel often spring to mind.
