Goodreads asked J.C. Cole:

What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

J.C. Cole When I wrote Momentous it reflected a lot on how I've come to interpret my life growing up. Whenever I heard stories of myself as a kid, I remembered my life as they were told. They weren't real memories, in a sense that I had not authentically remembered them. I created an idea of my childhood through the stories that were told. This led me to accept that all those memories were merely subjective to the ones telling them, and there was little truth to how things really played out. Feelings changed and events were slightly manipulated enough over the years, that my perception of the past changed. Which begged me to question, how much of ourselves do we really know?
