Have patience. It's the hardest thing to want to be published and to have to wait for that, but it's not passive waiting. Write, get critiques of your work, learn about the craft. Be active in that waiting and don't publish too soon. You can still be a young author, but don't let your writing be release into the wild if it's not ready.
