I guess I have to add my comment separately…but it’s worth it! I had an incredible mutt named 67! You are the very first person I have heard of that named their dog a number as well! I adopted him from the pound in 1997 during my first month away at college and he was with me until 2010. I’m interested to know the story behind you naming your pup 99? That is, if you’re willing to share!

99 is named for my friend, Helen. She and I were best friends and when we were young, we called each other 86 and 99 (from Get Smart). The names lasted all the way into adulthood. When she died unexpectedly, I was beside myself. Two years later, when we adopted a retired greyhound racer, I decided to bring my friend's name back so she would never be forgotten. Best thing I ever did.

Bonnie, I LOVE this book. Only have about 15% left, and know it will be the top of my favorite reads for 2022. Some of the lines are hilarious and I've highlighted them. Some of the women's issues you raise are still with us, and the US seems to be going backwards. I wonder if you knew what was coming? I feel the same emotions the characters do. What a great book!

Bonnie~Just wanted to say thank you for this book. I really loved it and have listened to/read it several times already. (Six-thirty's POV was a stroke of brilliance.) I also wanted to say that the interview you did at the end of the audiobook was really great and people should make sure to listen to that as well. (I need a question mark in order to post this, so here it is ? lol)
