Linwood Barclay:
As a high school English teacher, I Will Ruin You is just about the worst horror story imaginable. You've featured teachers before and I didn't always buy all the details--I feel I can freely say that since your acknowledgments give a lovely nod to the teachers of this world (and I love your books). I suppose my question is this: Would you ever want to talk to one who has taught high school English for eighteen years?

It's not quite clear to me from your note whether you think I got it all wrong about what it's like to teach. I've never been a teacher, but my wife taught her entire career (and I saw how much harder she worked than I did), many of our friends were teachers, and during the second half of the 90s I probably spoke to about 100 educational groups across Ontario (the invitations coming from what I was writing in my newspaper column at the time). I'm hoping I picked up enough from those experiences to at least get it half right.

Linwood Barclay:
Hi Linwood, thanks for being one of the few accessible authors who is willing to put himself out there to answer questions and engage with his fans. My question to you is this, is it more difficult to start a story or end a story? Obviously both are very important as you must suck someone in with those beginning pages, but I feel the ending leaves the biggest impression on how we feel overall about a book.

I love the Zack Walker books. They were my first introduction to Linwood Barclay. I have read your books every since and the depth of thrillers has been enjoyable. I somehow missed A Tap on the Window in 2013 and just read it. Very sad but now I understand this character better. I have just purchased Far From True. (why is it cheaper to buy a paperback than an ebook?) and look forward to reading it
