Oh Hazel, thank you so much for responding. I'd forgotten I asked you this. My husband passed away 2 weeks ago. I'd just finished your book and was reading another while at his bedside for the last bit of March and two weeks into April. He died on April 14. It's been tough focusing on reading and anything to do with writing. I will get back to it and I'd love to take a look at that web site. Could you pass it on pls?

Dear Tina,
For some reason your answer has only just appeared in my inbox (I don't visit Goodreads very often, I'm afraid). I'm so very, very sorry to hear about your husband. What a tough time for you. I'm not surprised you have been finding it difficult to focus, and I hope you are being kind to yourself and taking the time you need. Just to let you know, The BBC People's War website I mentioned can be found here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/history/ww2peop...
Sending you heartfelt sympathy and warmest wishes, Hazel

I am rather ill right now with many serious illnesses and I have been taking care of my 43 year old wheelchair son his whole life. I am depressed and worn out. I read How the Penguins saved Veronica and I was so happy. Then I looked you up and found out there were 2 more penguin books so I ordered them from Amazon. Do you know how happy I was? Thank you for lifting my spirts. Ellie was my first one of yours.

Dear Hazel, I just spent the last hour sobbing into my tissue box while finishing Ellie & the Harp Maker. I absolutely ADORED this book and devoured it completely while simultaneously trying to slow myself down because I didn't want it to end. I LOVED the characters of Daniel & Ellie so much. I felt as if I was personal friends with them. Could you write a sequel & tell us what is happening in their lives now?
