Hi, Erica! I just read Rumors and loved it! How did you write about dealing with death, and opening up about it? Did you do research on it, or was it from personal experience? I'm about to read Lingering Echoes, and am very excited about it. Thank you!

Hi Car, I'm so sorry for the belated message. I'm embarrassed that it's been a year and I apologize for not seeing this. I'm so glad you enjoyed Rumors! Great question! I wrote Lingering Echoes first and had not yet experienced any death on a deeply personal level. However, my background in therapy and working with at-risk youth in residential treatment provided me a lot of experience working with kids struggling with challenging life circumstances. I loved helping them work to understand their emotions and help them create positive experiences.
Unfortunately, my own personal loss happened while trying to publish Lingering Echoes. My first-born son died from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. That experience and being pulled into a world of grief and healing allowed me to add some personal touches to Rumors when I wrote it four years later.
I've since published a book called Vanishing Act that is not a sequel per se to Lingering Echoes, but it has some of the same characters from Lingering Echoes (like Aaron Jackson!) and dives into similarly troubling circumstances. If you're up for another emotional read, check it out on my website: www.ericakieferbooks.com I'd love to hear from you again and see what you thought of LE. Contact me on FB. I'm on there all the time! www.facebook.com/ericakieferauthor

Erica Kiefer:
I got Rumors as an ebook on my nook, and finished it almost immediately. At the end of the book it says that Lingering Echoes is available "on all platforms", which I thought meant it would be available for the nook. When I looked, though, it's not available. Is there any plan to make it available on the nook?
