Ruby Sinclair
Ruby Sinclair asked Ruby Sinclair:

How did you come up with the idea for Arms of a Stranger?

Ruby Sinclair I was touring Fort Henry in Kingston, Ontario. On the tour, we learned that the older daughters of soldiers had to find a husband currently serving in the military if they wanted to remain living at the fort. However, the soldiers weren’t allowed to marry until they’d served for fourteen years. Consequently, young women were married to much older men. And thus, the idea of a young woman fleeing a marriage arranged by her father, a Lieutenant Colonel of the British Army, to a much older man was born.
