Why did the killer in Lying Beside You cut off the victims’ hair? Maybe I read the book too fast and missed it? This is the first book by you that I have read. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Cutting off a victims' hair has a history in gendered violence because it is often used as a tactic for dehumanizing or humiliating a victim, setting her apart. This is why the Nazis shaved the heads of Jewish prisoners in the Holocaust. In this case, the killer wanted to humiliate and punish the women, because he blamed them for their past actions.

I had to stop reading at one point because I didn't like where I thought the story was heading in the sense it might be too horrific or too sad. I was pleased to see the story went differently to my assumptions. I thoroughly liked the way the characters were developed and their issues and problems respected. Great introduction to Cyrus. I look forward to his new journey will there be one?

I've read the Cyrus & Evie series, and I love them. I'm hopeful for a book 5 ... a lot of answers were given in book 4, however they are such interesting characters! Maybe Cyrus and Elias origin story. I'm finally reading The Secrets She Keeps (haven't watched the TV series yet), and am speeding through it. I love that Cyrus has an appearance. I'm curious, where does this fit in Cyrus' timeline, within his story?
