Lois McMaster Bujold:
Has anyone important ever asked you about making a movie of "Shards of Honor"? It's one of my all-time favorites and seems quite cinematic.
Lois McMaster Bujold
Short answer is, no.
I actually think Shards would be much easier to make into a feature film (that resembled the book -- not that Hollywood cares about that) than The Warrior's Apprentice, which is the one people seem to focus on. (Although the latter might go well as a TV mini-series.) But movie rights are a buyer's market, and there are very few legit, actually-capable-of-making-a-film producers buying.
I also think Falling Free could make a splendid animation or anime. But, as I am not a film producer with access to hundreds of millions of dollars and a couple-three decades of experience in the industry, which is what it takes, it is not up to me.

Lois McMaster Bujold:
In Falling Free, the name of the pirated Earth holovid the quaddies watch in the clubhouse is "The Prisoner of Zenda". That's the name of a real book (an abysmally-terrible 1894 adventure novel that spawned a whole genre of works featuring British people messing about with fictional Eastern European countries in political turmoil). Why the nod to that book? Some any metaphorical connection I've missed?

Somewhere I remember reading that you started your writing career when your children were young and at home with you. What was that like and do you have any advice to parents trying to both write and care for kids? I also want to join the chorus of your fans by saying "Thank you!" This new Q&A feature is a great supplement to your goodreads blog posts.

Hi! I am a teacher for German as foreign language and wanted to use one of Paul de Becker's drawings. Am I allowed to use it in class and upload it on ISL Collective (a site, where language teachers upload their work sheets)? I'd like to write an e-mail and send the drawing as attachment. Is it possible? Otherwise there is no possibility of satisfactory answer. I am no member of Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter.
