My parents were both born and grew up in Zanzibar. Both mum and dad were of Goan origin. Mum was a teacher at a local state school in Stone Town and dad worked for Cable and Wireless. Mum left in 1965 and dad in 1967. They never spoke about what happened and we grew up knowing very little about Zanzibar. Can you suggest a book that would be given from a Catholic Goan Zanzibari? I loved reading you book -Zanzibar Uhuru

Hi Rachel, there were a few Goan people in Zanzibar and I know most left as soon as they could. What do you mean in your question 'from a Catholic Goan Zanzibari'? I am sorry that your parents did not tell you about Zanzibar. I am glad that you liked my book. Have you visited Zanzibar? kind regards

I am yet to finish the m/s, but it has been awarded 3rd prize in the Association of Christian Writers' novel writing competition and was shortlisted by Eyeland Book Awards 2020 for an unpublished historical novel, which is encouraging. May I send you a proof-read draft when it is ready?
