Rachel Harding

For those who have read the book -- can you recall one or two specific suggestions about how slavery might have been ended without violence? I am very curious about this and will likely read the book myself at some point. But in the meantime, I'd like to know how Kurlansky articulates what plans/ideas he found for transforming our society and insuring the rights of Black Americans (all Americans) without bloodshed.
