I loved the book Take Me With You. I came across it by accident when looking for a book on Kindle & was instantly hooked. What a heartwarming story! I was pleasantly surprised to find out you wrote Pay It Forward as I had seen the movie but didn't read the book. Now I want to read all your books. Do you know the ending of a book when you begin writing?
Catherine Ryan Hyde
Hi Deb. The answer is: much more than I used to. I used to start writing and figure my way as I went along (though I had a fair idea where I wanted to end up). Lately I've been presenting new books to my editor based on a synopsis and sample. When you have to sit down and synopsize an idea, you get to know it pretty well. Sometimes things come up that I didn't expect until I got deep into the work, but I've never had one significantly change the ending I planned.

"When I Found You" was one of the first three books read when I began my reading spree that counts more than one hundred book a year. I also have just finished "Take Me With You". Where did you get such a deep and lasting empathy (faith) in people? I so admire it and have learned so much from your works. Thank you, Bob Seaman

Thank you, thank you, thank you for Ask Him Why. As a Muslim I was overjoyed. I wish more people would read this book to understand and develop compassion for all those involved in conflicts in the world. Especially in Muslim lands. How refreshing not to be the bad guy for a change! Enlightening to audiences that insurgents can be found anywhere?
