Greetings Mr Haley! I'm usually a sucker for marines and the Eisenhorn series when it comes to Black Library, however, I recently finished Valedor and deeply appreciates your characterization of xenos. I understand it has been some years but I'm curious as to what the title "Harlequin King" entails? Is it used interchangeably with "Great Harlequin" and "Grand Harlequin"? Are they they same as "Troupe Masters"?

Hi there! Thanks for reading. You're right, it has been some years, 11 since I wrote it, to be precise. I had to go and look it up, but a quick search reveals that the book says the Harlequin King is 'the greatest of the Great Harlequins', so it must be that.

I just started listening to The Emperor's Railroad on Audible (on the road a lot) and I love it! Where I am in the novella, the characters are along the Kanawha River near Charleston. That's not in Virginia, that's West Virginia, with Charleston being our capital. I'm always pleasantly surprised to read books set in my home state when I'm not expecting it. Just wondering what made you choose West Virginia? Thanks!
