Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Beth Dotson Brown I live in Kentucky where it's common to get tornado warnings in the spring. One evening when the tornado siren went off, my husband and I went into our cellar for safety. I thought about how I didn't want to lose my house. Then this character, Ava, came to me and said she wasn't sure she would mind so much if she lost her house. I had to write about her to find out who she was and what would make her think that.
