Goodreads asked Angela M. Shrum:

Can you tell us a two-sentence horror story?

Angela M. Shrum With sweat dripping down my brow, I take a deep breath, finally allowing myself to accept that this is good it ends - my ultimate sacrifice: his life before my my own.

I lock eyes with my nurse and allow her encouragement to be the strength as I roll over onto my back and selflessly sacrifice my body over with one last exhale lef - but suddenly, that breath catches in my throat as my watering eyes focus down to the little baby girl, hey eyes and nose the same as mine.

(Bonus) She's beautiful, I think to myself in amazement... but where is he? My son I've dreamt up for years, whose name is on the nursery, ehose lighthearted steps are made to match my pulse, who whimpers out for only me in my nightmares - my previous precious baby boy - here is HE?
