Robert Dodds
Robert Dodds asked Michael Connelly:

What connection exists between your character Harry Bosch and the artist Hieronymus Bosch, or is the naming coincidental? (Sorry if this is an old question for you!)

Michael Connelly It’s not coincidental – I don’t think I could just make up a name like that! Harry is named after the painter because my plan was to write about a detective who trod the same territory as the painter. That is, as a witness to chaos, the world gone wrong and the wages of sin. The painter’s work was his exploration of evil, the detective’s work is an exploration of evil.
