David Moody:
Do you read within genre very much, mostly out of genre, or is it about even?
David Moody
I'm answering this again (at least another 5 years since I last did!). Now I'd say I read half and half. I try to keep up with recent genre entries, and also maintain a steady diet of classics. The longer I've been writing, the more important reading has become. It keeps me fresh and keeps me learning.

I don't read as much as I like, but when I do, it's usually within the genres I prefer to write. That said, I think it's misleading to describe horror as a genre in its own right. It's more a feeling, I think, an emotion. Two of the most horrific books I've read are The Road and We Need to Talk About Kevin, and neither are described as horror!
I can't remember when I posted this answer... has to be at least 5 years ago. I saw it and wanted to update, because I read voraciously now. Interestingly, the balance has shifted and I now read more out of genre than in. Not sure what that says, exactly, but I thought it was worth noting!

Hello Good Sir! I am a huge fan of your writing and I have only just begun. I started with Hater, sorry it took so long to discover your masterminded awesomeness:) not that I am huge fan of great books being adapted into films but if Hater were to become a film do you have an idea of who you have in mind for Danny and the other chracters? Also what is your favorite horror flick and your favorite horror book?

Hello Mr. Moody, I hope you are doing well. I've read all your books, and the Autumn novels are the best "undead" series I have ever read. Hopefully this becomes a television series in the near future. My question is, have you thought about a comics adaption for any of your stories? The Autumn and Hater series would be amazing if you got some top talent to translate it to this medium.
