Hello! I'm sure you are probably asked this quite a bit. Do you think you will ever write another Sevenwaters novel? I am absolutely in love with the entire series! Daughter of the Forest was given to me as a Christmas present several years ago, and since then I have shared the book with family, friends, and even a couple of teachers! Thank you for your time!

Hi Sarah, and thank you for these nice comments - I'm very happy that you loved the Sevenwaters books. I did feel the series was finished with Flame of Sevenwaters, partly because Ciaran's story runs through all six books and I felt as if he had reached a good stopping place (though of course the reader will wonder how he got on in that very challenging situation.) I am really involved in writing the Blackthorn & Grim series now, also set in medieval Ireland, and with a mystery element added to the historical fantasy. They are more complex, grittier books with older, more damaged central characters and I'm finding them rewarding to write. I might possibly write a short story or novella set in the Sevenwaters world at some point - I know there are plenty more story possibilities there including a whole cast of much younger characters, the sons and daughters of that last generation.

In the research and construction of your books, why kind of role does historical or technical research play, and how flexibly do you incorporate or interpret it for the purpose of the story? Your books have such detail and sense of place to feel believable and present, and still the fantasy aspects fit so seamlessly in with reality.

Hi Juliet, I'm completing a book challenge this year (to try and get back into more reading) and one prompt for a book is a recommendation by our favourite author. Since I own every single book you've written (personal favourites being Son of the Shadows, Tower of Thorns and Hearts Blood), do you have any good book recommendations at the moment? Thanks so much.
