Hi, Lois! I'm from Russia and I really like your Saga of Vorkosigan. I think miles and one of the most vivid and strong characters in fantastic prose. Tell me, were you offered ever to make a movie or series about Vorkosigan? Or maybe you wanted this story was brought to the screen? With respect to your work, Alla.

There was a movie offer back in the mid-1990s on The Warrior's Apprentice, which went as far as a script. The script was so dire, with less than zero relationship to the original book, I was enormously relieved when they didn't go on to make a movie from it. That experience pretty much cured me of any desire for a media adaptation.
Georgette Heyer never had a movie made from any of her books, but in just two years she will be coming up on 100 years of her books being in continuous print, read by millions over that time. I could be quite content with a century-long career like that, even if didn't live to see all of it.
Making a movie of Miles would be harder than it looks, since so much of the important action and humor is taking place inside his head, in his thoughts, not visible to the outside observer, or to the camera.

Did you hear that Lord Miles was withdrawn from the Derby? It eerily echoes the fictional Lord Miles getting pulled from the "race" and path he had so aspired to (only it was another horse that tragically broke its leg, leading to the withdrawal). Will Lord Miles the horse be able to find an alternate path forward as did the fictional Miles? We await the outcome.

I am devouring the snippet like short books on Penric, excellent idea pacing them out like this and whispersyncing the ebook with the audiobook. When writing these, I always love the names you find for the protagonists (may have mentioned that earlier). It's almost sad if Penric gets shortened to Pen, though, so would you consider this compromise: use Pen in spoken language, and Penric, in full, in storytelling?

When I read my friend's blog about her newfound passion for all things Bujold, I was very surprised to learn that she doesn't love Cordelia (though her reason makes sense cf http://www.alicebulmer.com/me-and-lois-mcmaster-bujold/) Everyone else I've ever talked with about Cordelia adores her, but now I wonder whether you have come across anyone else not so keen on Cordelia?
