I really enjoyed How to Become a Dark Lord, but felt the main character was over-the-top sexual. It took away some of the joy of the book for me. Yes, women can be badasses and yes, they can do anything, but I don't know many women (if any) who are like this character. Can you please elaborate on why you made this choice for this character?

Part of the point of the story is that at the beginning, having despaired of actually accomplishing her goal (or anything else), hedonism is all Davi has left -- without hope OR fear of anything different ever happening, all you've got is the basic pleasures of food, sex, etc. That's where Davi starts out, and she has to rediscover things like "actually having an emotional connection with other people".

Django Wexler:
I just finished The Thousand Names and really enjoyed it! I rekindled my longstanding love of the Napoleonic Wars from Sharpe, Hornblower, and Aubrey–Maturin (high praise). As I move on to the rest of the series, I was wondering if you had a recommendation for where a first-time reader should read The First Kill and The Penitent Damned. I assume The Shadow of Elysium should be read between books 2 and 3? Thanks!

Hi Django! Cool name btw :) Just a quick question: Do you know when the last two books of the Shadow Campaign Series will be released in Mass Market Paperback? I bought the first 3 books like (only paperback option on Amazon) that and would love to have the last two in the same format... Thanks a lot and have a great day! :)
