Did you take a class of Japanese prior starting the writing process for the Paper Gods series or was it just research as you were going? (LOVE Your books I'm reading Ink right now and I like it so much I have already got Rain.)

Amanda Sun Thank you so much! I started self-learning Japanese in high school, oddly enough by comparing the katakana on Sailor Moon trading cards with their English names XD A year later I lived in Osaka on exchange and then took Japanese through university. I'm still learning, of course! I have some lovely friends in Japan who check the Japanese I use in the Paper Gods.
