I would like to think that I could, but I know the truth--I would miss my computer way too much. I could live without my cellphone and I don't care so much about clothes or makeup these days. But the computer would definitely be my downfall. :)
I think the simplicity of life is what makes the Amish way so charming and appealing. The mere fact that they ride around in a horse and buggy slows their pace and makes me long for a little of that. The turn off? Not sure. Maybe it would be the lack of electricity.
