Goodreads asked Sapphire Knight:

How do you get inspired to write?

Sapphire Knight I kept reading so many different books and thinking "No it should end like this, or that." Then one day I just decided I could write it the way I wanted to. I have always loved writing and dreamed of writing. As far back as I can remember I was writing stories and poems. I had different teachers nominate my poems for contests growing up. I have always done very well in my college English and Writing courses. My ideas usually come to me when I am in the shower. Funny right? I figure it's because I actually relax in there and the ideas get a chance to flow through. I'm a Psychology major so I tend to over analyze and dig into my characters minds as much as possible. I have to refrain myself from going too deep, because I want everyone to get their HEA. I want everyone to enjoy the characters without every ounce of their baggage being constantly on blast. Secrets was originally a much darker story. I seriously fought with it for so long. In the end, we have enough bad in our lives so I decided to make it more light hearted.
