That I've written or read? I'm a big believer in characters--male or female--being wholes unto themselves instead of halves to a whole. Because of that, my favorite characters are independent and strong, like Katsa from Graceling. I also love Vin from Mistborn. Of the ones I've written, I'm probably fondest of Mackenzie Bishop *because* she's not a self-sacrificing person. She's a sixteen-year-old girl who's been through immense trauma and just wants to stay alive.
