I've heard good things about Fluency from Susan Kaye Quinn! I too count Ray Bradbury as a big influence. What are your favorites? I am partial to the Green Town pair: SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES and DANDELION WINE.

Jennifer Foehner Wells Wonderful! One of my earliest SF reads was a big tome of Bradbury shorts. I loved a bunch of them, but there were several that really resonated with me. One that I thought of again and again as I grew up was "A Sound Of Thunder," which coincidentally was one of his most popular and most frequently-published shorts. It's the story that the movie "The Butterfly Effect" was based on. As a child, completely unfamiliar with these kinds of concepts, it fascinated me, utterly. I still think about it from time to time. This is is what good stories are made of. : )
