How do you get inspired to write?

Owen Tyler I sometimes get inspired to write by reading a good book or watching a good movie. However, I seem to have the best luck with the ones I don't like. It's a lot easier for me to say, "I wish they would have done it this way, instead." I sometimes recommend this for someone who has writer's block. If you have a hard time asking yourself what you want in your story, then try asking yourself what you don't want instead. Ideas might start flowing that way.
