Lauren Rowe Oh man. Such a good question. There is no magic bullet, from my experience. If you are brand new, and no one knows you at all (which was the case for me when I published The Club in January), then I suggest giving away review copies quite a bit. That's what I did, well before publication, and it was very helpful. My family and friends had read my books and loved them, and of course, I was thrilled. But it wasn't until actual strangers read my little stories and started to message me that I felt like I'd died and gone to heaven. I so wish for you to have that sensation, it is really amazing. So, I suggest you find bloggers or groups and (following their standards of conduct, of course), go into whatever boards they allow and see if anyone wants to read a free copy of your book?
