*The Hanging* - A Kesk8a Story.
In December 1725, there was a treaty between the "Indians" of Acadia (Nova Scotia) and "The Colonies" but "The Colonies" people were still holding relatives (the author's "cousins") of Jean-Baptiste Guidry in a prison. The prisoners were supposed to be released. Jean-Baptiste was counseled (by someone who apparently had a lot of knowledge and influence) to take control of a ship to offer as a bargaining agent between the British and himself.
Didn't work out so hot. :-(
