In your description of Miles' clothing, you often use the words jacket and tunic, like in A Civil Campaign when he shows Ekaterin the little admiral, His mercenary uniform has a jacket but his Auditor's grey suit has a tunic. You especially refer to Barrayaran uniforms as having tunic tops. I always read tunic and see sleeve-less and long to the mid-thigh, but that can't be right. How do you envision the tunic tops?
Lois McMaster Bujold
I envision them as like military cadet tunics -- jackets with high round collars, variously fastened. One can see the style in a lot of anime boys' high-school uniforms as well. (I was just rewatching xxxHolic -- there's an example.) Also Nehru jackets. In short, I am using the two terms almost interchangeably.

I asked you a while ago if Illyan was modeled after Illya Kuryakin. Your answer was that Illya was definitely an inspiration for the character. Since I would say this makes you a fan of Man from U.N.C.L.E., I was wondering if you saw the movie and, if so, what you thought of it? BTW, I love Illyan. Wonder why?

I just reread "Diplomatic Immunity" for the umpteenth time and wondered if you ever had any plans to write a story about what the Cetagandan Star Crèche might have ended up doing with Miles' blood sample/genome? The first time I read it back in 2002 I hoped they would somehow be able to use it to make his body much better.

No question. Just wanted to say that in this very dark year, finding and burning through the Vorkosigan saga was a real bright spot. I find myself recommending it to friends constantly, and they all fall in love as I did. Many many thanks for your work, and please know that it's bringing some light to dark places. {insert ?, since the autofill screen demands it!]
