Butt in chair, eyes on the page (or screen). It's not so much about waiting for inspiration to strike than it is to go after it with a sledgehammer. The words will come the more you write; the story will find itself the deeper you delve into it. Making it a habit will ensure that inspiration comes when you call for it.

Is your book, Land of Sand and Song possibly Central-Asian coded? I haven't read this book and I have ONLY read the summary provided by Goodreads. The setting is in the desert, the main character's name is literally Desert Rose, to my knowledge, many Mongolian names are similar, ex. Gold Rose, the name of the desert is Khuzar?? It definitely doesn't sound something out of Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, Korean, etc?
