I honestly haven't gotten this a whole lot. That's not to say it can't happen, of course, but I can't think of a time where I was really blocked. I fight against distraction all the time--I have a pretty large circle of friends and a busy social life. It's all too easy to let myself get pulled away from writing by doing chores around the house or by this or that entertainment outlet.
Naturally, I get stumped by problems with a given story, though. That's not exactly a "block," but it does bring things to a halt. When that happens, I try to switch to writing something else, even if I have no real plans for it. That's exactly how the Good Intentions series happened. I was stumped on a minor issue in Poor Man's Fight and didn't know where to go with it. My girlfriend suggested I write something else for a while. Clearly that worked out pretty well for me!

I just finished reading Life in Shadows, and this weekend is the first time I've read your books (which are awesome btw). But I swear I've read the Halloween For Life story before and I remember liking it a lot. Reading it context after just finishing the other two books made it even better! I'm going crazy trying to figure out where I might've read it. Has it ever been published in an anthology or online before?

Recently read Good Intentions and Natural Consequences for probably the ninth time now, and I think your biggest strength is your characters. Each done is very different but easily believable, if not outright relatable. My question would be what you do to create them? Are they based on people or characters you know? Do you flesh them out from a archetype and flesh them out further? Or do you make them from scratch?
