Goodreads asked Gary Webb:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Gary Webb I change the subject of my writing to something else. I may shift over to add an entry to my blog, write some emails, whatever. The best cure for "writer's block" is writing - writing something, anything.
Another trick is to end your writing session with an incomplete section (but with a clue to what comes next). When you return, you are ready to start up again where you left off. If you completely finish one section, your system tells you that you are done. It is hard to visualize what comes next when that happens.
