Kathy asked Maria Geraci:

What exactly is the DIFFERENCE between "Romance" and "Women's Literature"? Can a book belong in both categories?

Maria Geraci Hi, Kathy!

That's a great question and the answer is absolutely, a book can fall into both categories. Most contemporary romance deals with some women's fiction issues (familial relationships) just like paranormal romance deals with the supernatural or historical romance might deal with a mystery or some sort of intrigue. By definition, a romance delves into the falling of love between 2 people and involves a happily ever after, while women's fiction doesn't need to include a romance at all. Thanks for asking!
