Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Judy Phillips An SHSU literacy professor approached my creative literary partner and illustrator, Coach Brenda Nichols with the idea to match her basketball players with girls at the school in which I'm Counselor with a reading project. The girls were to select the same sports-themed books to read and dialogue together about their thoughts of the book. A concern grew about the lack of sports books about females, both fiction and nonfiction offerings. This led to Coach Nichols and me to write our own! Miss Priss chapter book series will introduce young readers to all sorts of sports through the eyes of the main character, Priscilla Penelope Paxton, aka Miss Priss.
