Amy Randall
Amy Randall asked Jay Bell:

I just got my dream job in a small, rural high school library. Our fiction section is terrible, especially in its lack of LGBT fiction. Now I have my favs, but what would you have wished to see in your high school library? The kids would LOVE to hear from you. It would go a long way toward enlivening their love of reading and their connection with like-minded voices outside this sad little town. Thank you so much.

Jay Bell Hey Amy! Are these books for younger readers? In other words, are you concerned about explicit content? Most of the stuff I read and write doesn’t hold back when it comes to sex. That having been said, I loved fantasy novels when I was younger. Mercedes Lackey’s Last Herald Mage trilogy is excellent. The includes Magic’s Pawn, Magic’s Price, and Magic’s Promise. My Loka Legends series is fantasy that is appropriate for younger readers. No naughty bits. So far the only books in the series are The Cat in the Cradle and From Darkness to Darkness. If you’re looking for a more contemporary story, Play Me, I’m Yours by Madison Parker is great and full of lots of heart. You might check out the YA LGBT Books Group here on Goodreads for more. Maybe even start a thread there. I’m sure you’ll get plenty of recommendations! If explicit content isn't an issue, you can find some of my favorite books here: http://www.jaybellbooks.com/recommend...
