How do you get inspired to write?

Fleur Ferris Inspiration to write seems to come naturally from within. I started writing in journals when I as 8. While I pursued other career paths I wrote novels in my spare time. I have a compulsion to write which I find hard to turn off. I haven't ever experienced writers block, but I believe it exists. I guess if it happens to me I will have to find ways to overcome it then.
